Hi All,
Version 6.1.30 r148432 (Qt5.6.2)
Following the latest Windows updates i am unable to launch my VMs - i see the below issue regardless if i try to start one of my old machines, or a newly created one: Win Server 2012 R2
VirtualBox - Error
Failed to open a session for the virtual machine OnBase Training
Details
The virtual machine 'OnBase Training' has terminated unexpectedly during startup with exit code -1073741819 (0xc0000005).
Result Code:
E_FAIL (0x80004005)
Component:
MachineWrap
Interface:
IMachine {85632c68-b5bb-4316-a900-5eb28d3413df}
This is my company laptop, which has CylancePROTECT as an antivirus - I tried shutting it off, but no change.
I have tried accessing both on and off of the Company network, but still no joy.
I have tried downgrading to the base 6.1 version, but that did not help as well - i have since reverted back to 6.1.30
I have uploaded the latest two logs for reference.
Any ideas - Please let me know if there is anything else i can do to help diagnose
Many Thanks!
b

Web-searching "virtualbox cylance protect" shows that cylance hasn't liked Virtualbox for a long time. The search brings up viewtopic.php?f=6&t=83021&start=15 and viewtopic.php?f=6&t=91396, which show things to set exceptions for in Cylance to not bother Virtualbox.
Since you have IT overlords you may need to get their permission to set these exceptions.

Thanks for your time reading this!
As suspected, i've allowed Microsoft a couple of days to roll out some updates, and the issue has resolved itself - my VMs are up and running without any apparent issues.
Cheers lads! Take care!
