Windows 11 & VirtualBox

Post by emerald_void »

So, I just recently got me a new PC and I haven't had to set up a Virtual Machine in a long time but, I wanted to try out Windows 11 to just see how it is before I unleash it on my machine.

I followed several guides and tutorials and the install keeps failing with the message "A critical error has occurred while running the virtual machine and the machine execution has been stopped"

No matter how many times I try, I can't seem to get windows 11 to install on VirtualBox. I have attached my log files, can anyone help me or point me in the right direction on how to fix this issue?

Windows 11 has very specific hardware requirements. Many physical machines do not meet these, and no current version of VirtualBox does either.

Jus as with physical PCs, there are hacks to allow it to run, if you really want to run Windows 11 on an unsupported platform.

There are test builds which will run Windows 11, so things will probably change when VirtualBox v7 is released.
