OK I guess MS pushed the button. TPM now required for Win11.
Updates no longer available, have to revert to Win10.
Any work around?
Is VB working on TPM?

These are the user forums, so we don't know what the devs are doing. However, since officially-final-released Windows 11 is likely to be used by Oracle's customers in a relatively short time thereafter, the devs will probably have either a TPM simulation or a way to not need it and still run 11 by a couple months after 11 comes out of Preview and is finally fully released. No timetable though.Jazz1 wrote:Is VB working on TPM?

Of course this is a user Forum! That is why I asked here.
Are VB's not intended for testing new OS's?
Testing Win11 no longer an option in VB.

Easy on there buddy. Watch the tone.
You totally missed the point:
A forum guru or two may however reveal how they discerned the way to use newer releases of 11 without a virtual TPM, in time, if it can be done.

The devs do not reveal their plans. You will simply have to wait. We have no data to answer your question.scottgus1 wrote:These are the user forums, so we don't know what the devs are doing.

No "Tone" was intended, question was if there was a workaround.

If you'd tell us which Windows 11 build you're trying to install, @BillG could tell us if he has it already running.

Edition Windows 11 Pro
Version 21H2
Installed on 6/29/2021
OS build 22000.168
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22000.168.0
Actually I am not trying to install it, I have it installed, I am trying to get it to stay and update.
I have had it installed for at least 3 versions/builds.
MS has now disabled all updates for Insiders

I wish that they had done it earlier! The update to 22000.176 bricked mine.
How do you know that it is TPM, not one of the other restrictions - or simply a glitch?

In any case, it is not true. I just updated my Win11 vm on my other PC to 22000.176 without any problems.

So the workaround is... know what you're doing. Got it. Seems so simple now!
But seriously, if you have a Windows support question, why not ask Microsoft? Especially given that you're on their beta program? VirtualBox VMs do not currently meet the Win11 spec, and most of those VMs will be running on host PCs which themselves do not meet the processor spec, so TPM is only a small part of the puzzle, very little of which will be worked around by VirtualBox.

Re: OK,MS pushed the button. TPM now required for Win11.
I got a 'skip ahead' build 22458 ISO (the version after W11 RTM) and it won't install:
"This PC can't run Windows 11
This PC doesn't meet the minimum system requirements ..."

I'm not sure why people are wasting time running Windows 11 test builds in VirtualBox. What's the point exactly?
If you're an actual software developer and wanna test compatibility you must have real HW to install it on anyways.

Seems Oracle are working on TPM support since 08/27/2021.
