Try turning off transparency effects in the guest from Settings>Personalization>Colors.

If you decide to try Virtualbox again, this registry key is supposed to disable Transparency even on no-Personalization Windows 10:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Themes\Personalize
EnableTransparency = 0
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Themes\Personalize
EnableTransparency = 0

FWIW, if Windows is not activated (yet), the setting under Ease of Access > Display > Simplify and personalize Windows > Show transparency in Windows is accessible, whereas the setting under Personalize > Colors > Transparency effects is not.
