Slow Down WinXP Guest on Win10

Post by pwiecek »

I'm running Windows XP as a guest on a windows 10 64 bit machine. I'm trying to run the After Dark Screen Saver on the guest. Some of the modules work quite well but others display the default "Starry Night" with an error message too rapidly scrolling across the top. Is there any setting to slow this down?

There is no easy way. VirtualBox does not emulate old processors. Some other virtualisers do. VirtualBox uses the processor in the host PC which will be much faster than anything around 20 years ago when XP was released.

Have you looked at QEMU?
