Dear all,
I hope someone can point me in the right direction.
I installed VB 6.1.18 on my iMac running High Sierra 10.13.6 for all users.
I have been running an activated copy of Windows 10 on it for several years, upgrading from Windows 7 over the years using different versions of VB back to at least VB 5.
Since updating Windows 10 to the latest version (October 2020), when I invoke it from my Mac admin account it is activated. However, when I invoke it from a normal Mac user account, Windows reports it is not activated, as apparently the hardware has changed. It is the same Windows instance (vdi file), as I can see the Windows updates history lists the updates made when launched from the Mac admin account.
Are there VB settings for each Mac user that need to be the same? Is Windows 10 20H2 more sensitive to a Mac user's VB settings? Is VB 6.1.18 more sensitive?
Can I simply copy the Mac Admin user's VB xml file to the normal Mac user, if that contains the hardware definition?
Thank you in anticipation.
Ted

Please read 10.1. Where Oracle VM VirtualBox Stores its Files and tell us what files your two users have in what locations.

It needs to be more than just the same VDI in order to be the same VM.tedroberts wrote:It is the same Windows instance (vdi file)
