Other are reporting problems with 7.0 Guest Additions. 7.0 has some changes and still has bugs. Your VMs should still run in 6.1.40, as Bill says. You might also try running 6.1.40 Guest Additions in the 7.0 VM, no idea if it will work.Pein wrote:I removed guest additions 7.04 and it was running perfectly again. Why does my windows hang when running guest additions?

Re: Windows 11 guest with windows 11 host
I managed to do all the windows 11 updates and I could activate windows 11 as well. When I put back the 7.04 guest additions the vm hangs within seconds after logging in. When I remove the guest additions it runs perfectly again. You suggested that I downgrade my virtualbox to version 6.1.40, but that doesn't give me secure boot and tpm support that 7.0.x gives. Can you just confirm that my hypervisor has been disabled fully please. I did follow all the instructions listed earlier. I am attaching my latest log file.

Yep, Hyper-V is kaput.00:00:05.952261 HM: HMR3Init: VT-x w/ nested paging and unrestricted guest execution hw support
That's a good point. If you need those then 7.0 is required. You might try 6.1.40's Guest Additions, otherwise, you'll need to run without GAs until a good release comes along.Pein wrote:You suggested that I downgrade my virtualbox to version 6.1.40, but that doesn't give me secure boot and tpm support that 7.0.x gives.
Re: Windows 11 guest with windows 11 host
I am running virtualbox 7.0.4 with guest additions 6.1.40. Everthing looks fine now. I will wait for guest additions 7.0.6 or later and try again. Thanks so much for all your help. Do you think it has may be something to do with my hardware or drivers? I have a Dell Inspiron 3580 corei7,ssd laptop.

Probably not. And since 3D acceleration is not enabled in the VM, it could be safer to say Almost definitely not.Pein wrote:Do you think it has may be something to do with my hardware or drivers?
7.0 has new graphics programming, I think. More teething is necessary.
