Wozu, denkst du, sollte man sowas brauchen?

towo2099, this is a good question, and there may be a very good reason for requiring that OS.

Erika, Regrettably, XP 64-bit is really rare. The German forums are not used much, I will move this to the English Windows Guests forums and translate the topic title so you might get more visibility

Was willst Du hören?

You are receiving answers to your question: you asked if anyone is successfully using a German language installation of XP 64bit. And the answer is that practically nobody used XP 64bit, even fewer of those will be attending these forums, and even fewer will attend the German language sub-forum, so if not for the responses you see here, you could expect no responses at all. I.e. the answer is: no.

We also want to help you not waste your own time. That's what these forums are: users helping other users by discussing problems. To a first order approximation, nobody installed the 64bit edition of XP. It's unknown how reliable it ever was, it IS known that hardly anybody wrote drivers for it. The release of an OS that could handle >4GB RAM was largely ignored at a time when no 64bit software existed, no drivers existed, and a well specified PC had 2GB RAM (mine had 256MB as I recall - later upgraded to 512MB). So it is straight up impossible that you have any software that requires XP 64bits.

It was not until the Windows 7 era that desktop PCs would routinely run 64bits. That was 6 years after XP. And I'd say that it was a good 10 years after that before it became the default expectation.

And please try to be less combative.

Windows XP x64 was a Microsoft experiment. It is based on the x64 version of Windows Server 2003. It was not developed until after XP SP1 was released, so it already includes those fixes (and therefore there are only two service packs for XP x64). It has 64-bit support (WoW64) but, unlike standard WinXP it does not have 16-bit support.

I can say that the English version of Win XP x64 works well in VirtualBox, at least up to the 5.2.x series, although I've never used the German edition.
