DMI BIOS information to activate my WIN XP
Posted: 20. Aug 2009, 09:32
Based on all what I readed here in some topics and in other websites, I tried the following steps in order to get my right DMI bios settings into my Virtual machine;
MY HOST is WIN 7,
MY GUest is WIN XP,
MY PC is DELL VOSTRO 410 with VISTA BUSINESS AND XP DOWNGRADE
Actually I need to use my XP in a Virtual Machine legally of course, since my Core 2 duo e7200 doesnt support XP mode on Windows 7 i tried with virtual box wich is working fine for my own made XP mode.
Since dmidecode is not available in XP, I downloaded 2 windows alternative versions of dmidecode, one of them from here: http://gnuwin32.sourceforge.net/packages/dmidecode.htm, this dmidecode works fine only on WIN XP,unfortunately my WIN 7 doesnt allow me run it,
the error says:
then I readed about the command ""
and here are the results:
I tried using msinfo32 too:
and I created a .bat file instead the batch linux process used by other users on some topics of this forum
AND...........THE RESULTS WERE:
I deleted this virtual machine on my virtual box and attached the same hard disk to a new VM for restore at defaults my VM bios, but I will be happy to read your comments about that, I think I am near to the correct settings but at this moment I cant see the solution, I am tired I think.....
In other topic of this forum I readed about call microsoft activation line by phone, and the result were: "your product is not supported", I think i have an OEM version or I dont know,
Anyway I still belive I can activate my WIN XP legally like the a real installation.
Thank you for help me if you can.....
