VM V 5.x problems?

Post by AussieTuca »

Hi,

My installed version of Oracle VM is 4.3.28r 100309 and works fine.

Last month I decided to upgrade to V 5.x and all went to hell. None of the machines would boot (either stayed in a boot loop or simply crash saying that I should enable VT-x). The PAE/NX is enabled. My BIOS is up to date and VT-x and VT-d (MSI board) are enabled. I re-installed the old version and all is well now, back to normal and I can start the VMs.

Has anyone come across this issue? Is there a fix I could apply?

Info: Intel, i7-2600, Windows 7 Ultimate, 64 bits, 8GB.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Cheers!

Unless you're running a beta version of VirtualBox, posting in the section of the forum devoted to discussing beta versions won't get you far.

The problem happened with the latest version, January 19th, 2016
VirtualBox 5.0.14. I have not tried other version 5, beta or not...

5.0.14 is a release, not a beta and not a release candidate.

Please see the Discuss the 5.0.14 release.
