VM gets aborted after selecting ISO in Windows 10 10147

Post by jslegers »

Hello,

I'm testing Windows 10 on a separate computer. I'm also testing VirtualBox on Windows 10 to see if it works good.

I have tested RC1 and RC2 and both have the same problem.
When I want to select a disc image (Iso file) from the devices menu, the vm gets aborted. Is this a know issue ?

I'm getting this error :

The VM session was aborted.

Result Code:
E_FAIL (0x80004005)
Component:
SessionMachine
Interface:
ISession {7844aa05-b02e-4cdd-a04f-ade4a762e6b7}

Are you able to even start a VM?

Yes I can start a VM.
When I create a VM and go to settings and add an ISO file to the CD drive it is ok. But if i want to change it than it aborts.

Maybe there's an unknown variable that allows you to do that, but it's also possible that 10147 is helping, since I'm on 10130. If I see a difference with the build that's about to be released, I'll report back.

I bet 10147 was helping, since with 10158 I can actually start VMs now.

As for your problem, oh yes, I see it. It's not related to the client OS, since I just tested it with Win7 as client (10158 host).

I have tested it on clean Windows 10 Build 10162 install and VirtualBox 5 RC3 today. Still the same error. :(
