I don't think those warnings are unusual. A VBox.log would be more useful, unless the VM crashed, in which case the core dump would be.

No vbox.log and I'm off to find where it described how to do a core dump. :D

I found the info but, if I start the VM directly using…

Code: Select all

/Applications/VirtualBox.app/Contents/MacOS/VirtualBox -startvm VM_NAME
The VM starts and runs fine. Still want a core dump?

When I started the VM I had this message…

Code: Select all

CoreAnimation: warning, deleted thread with uncommitted CATransaction; set CA_DEBUG_TRANSACTIONS=1 in environment to log backtraces.
Also, no core dump is being generated in /core using the method for OSX from The Core Dump page.

If something is crashing then yes, we'd like a core dump... but is something crashing?

Guests won't start from the GUI. They are fine when started from the terminal.

Yes. To be perfectly honest, I expect you're the first trying it on 10.11, so who knows :)

Anyway, I didn't see any such problem locally and it sounds quite weird. We'll probably need more data from other users.
