The other proposed in the above link still rolls back.
The "disable driver signature enforcement" in combination with compatibility set to Win 7/8 worked for me on several systems, one Intel (Haswell) and the other two AMD based.

Make sure that the "disable driver signature enforcement" reboot is done before starting the install and again after it prompts for a reboot.

p.s. It only works with the install of 5.0 RC1. .28 doesn't work.

Can you confirm with RC2? I think I forgot to change compatibility mode, but anyhow it's not worth the trouble for me.
Windows 10 is the actual host, not 8 (no option).

I just verified that by following exactly same "disable driver signature enforcement" procedure, the RC2 install works without a hitch.

p.s. "disable driver signature enforcement" procedure:
  • 1. Settings/Update & Security/Recovery/Advanced Startup/Restart now/
    2. Troubleshoot/Advanced options/Startup Settings/7/
    3. Windows 8 compatibility install
    4. Reboot using "disable driver signature enforcement" procedure

"cd to your install path and run command "VirtualBox-5.0.0_RC1-100731-Win.exe -extract"
its will return pop-up tell where is extracted folder"

How do I "cd to my install path?"

Oracle Virtualbox is installed in local disc C: and then Program Files.

But how do I "cd to" there in cmd?

My first guess was, in command terminal, I typed, "C:\Program Files" (without quotes)
but that didn't work.

Please see the attached screenshot.

I tried to follow the directions, but I'm stuck.

Are you sure the installer you have is version RC1-100731? If not you need to replace it with the filename of the installer you have. For example, if you have the latest build (5.0.0-101573) your new command would be...

"VirtualBox-5.0.0_101573-Win.exe -extract"

Thank you, I think you helped me in the right direction.
Yes, it is the correct build.
But I didn't have the 5.0 RC1 on Windows 10 x64 build 10130
in the Oracle>Virtualbox folder. It was still in the downloads folder.

Also, I didn't quite understand what "cd to your install path" meant.
But after reading it several times and trying several different strings, I got it!

Still stuck at the next instruction.
There is no "VirtualBox-5.0.0_RC1-r100731-MultiArch_amd64.msi"
anywhere on my computer.

Maybe I'll just install Windows 8.1 in this laptop.
Would be much simpler.
