Video Acceleration / VM boot issue

Post by users »

A system can't start, if there is in Display setting --> Extended Features is checked one of

Enable 3D Acceleration
or
Enable 2D Video Acceleration

Any system fails to start - Windows XP/7/10 and Linux.
I suspect it is related somehow to my display adapter AMD 760G.

What's your host OS?
Where's your VirtualBox log?

The host is Windows XP SP3, logs in attachments.

This is the message from the Virtual Box manager:

Failed to open a session for the virtual machine Windows 10.

The VM session was aborted.

Result Code: E_FAIL (0x80004005)
Component: SessionMachine
Interface: ISession {12f4dcdb-12b2-4ec1-b7cd-ddd9f6c5bf4d}

It does not make any sense to search for errors for unsupported Host OS Versions.

Choose another Host OS.

Windows XP is clearly supported. Besides there are like 20% (or 300 million) users out there with Windows XP PCs. (including 2 at dear moderator's house)
