Issues after canceling snapshot

Post by bobsagetfullhouse »

I'm not sure if this is a 5.0 beta issue or a general virtualbox issue.

I'm running Win 10 tech preview. I started doing a snapshot while my machine was running. Then decided I didn't wanted to and hit cancel. It immediately gave me an error and said that my machine must be shut down. When I got to the main virtualbox console it showed a big question mark over my virtual machine. I restarted the console and my virtual machine showed up like normal. I was then able to boot back into it.

The weird thing after the first boot was that it took very long to boot up. Then several odd issues occurred and it seems folder permissions started coming out of wack. For example my downloads folder was suddenly shared across my network. Onedrive popped up giving some folder permission error. Beyond that the VM runs a lot slower and every once in a while explorer and other programs simply won't open until I reboot. None of this ever happened before.

So it looks like simply canceling a snapshot caused all these problems? Is this a known bug in virtualbox?
