Start a few (2+) VMs under one account; lets say this is on TTY1.
Switch to TTY3 -- [Ctrl]+[Alt]+[F3] --- or switch to another user account if you have more than 1.
Wait. Go get some coffee.
After a few minutes, come back to TTY1 --- [Ctrl]+[Alt]+[F1] --- and you will see that all your VMs have aborted.

TTY? You mean as in a text only teletype? Wow... I haven't heard anyone refer to a computer monitor that way since the 1980s!
Speaking of text, the devs may appreciate the log file of this VM. Right click VM in GUI, select "Show Log", save "VBox.log" (only) to a file, zip file and attach here. Make sure the VM is shut down before you collect the log of the session.

Can you try and see if you can reproduce the above behavior?mpack wrote:Speaking of text, the devs may appreciate the log file of this VM. I think the devs will be able to reproduce this.

I'm just a user like yourself - it would be for the devs to try to reproduce your problem, but don't forget that log file.
Re: VMs abort when switching to another TTY or user switch
Tried to reproduce this issue locally but without success. At least a VBox.log is required to investigate this further. Additionally some information about the host hardware and OS would be useful and maybe even a kernel log which might contain useful information where VBox crashed.
