OS X host. Mouse cursor disappears when saving state.

Post by pt__ »

OS X 10.10.2 host, Ubuntu 64 bit 14.10 guest. I have installed guest additions.

VM settings:
2 processors.
128MB video memory
3D acceleration.

To reproduce:
1. Reach the desktop of Ubuntu. Make sure the VM is full screen.
2. Close the VM, saving the state.
3. Start the VM. It will start in full screen.
4. The cursor will usually have disappeared.

This is also the case for VBox 4.3.26 on a OSX host. The workaround is to disable and re-enable the mouse integration. Afterwards, the mouse cursor is visible again.

I believe this only happens with guests that use Compiz such as Ubuntu.

@ loukingjr: good guess, I saw this behaviour with my Ubuntu 14.04 VM. Didn't try to check with other OS.
