[FIXED] guestcontrol copyto does not work with small files

Post by BuG »

Hi :)

I tried to copy some test files to the VM and wondered why it crashed every time. Some former copies worked fine. The problem seems to be the file size, e.g. a file test.txt with content "test" (4 Bytes small). Every try ends with error "Progress object failure: Unknown Status 0x800706BA" and the machine crashs.
Edit: I forgot: I use VirtualBox 4.0.0 Beta4. My Host is Windows 7 (32 bit), guests are Windows XP and Windows 7 (32 bit, too).

I tested a little bit more. Files with 100 bytes and more work fine, 99 and less crash the machine. Maybe there is just a problem with the calculation of the progress percentage?

I can reproduce the problem, thank you for the report. The responsible engineer is gone for the rest of the year but we'll try to figure out what's wrong.
