Hi,
Having successfully got Win2K pro running in a VirtualBox pc, I created a second virtual disk for use with RedHat 5 Enterprise AS. The install started okay and completed around 50% and then hung the VirtualBox pc. The VirtualBox pc could not be restarted or shutdown, I had to kill the VirtualBox pc, then kill the parent VirtualBox.
Checking the logs I found the following errors :-
Jun 21 09:01:10 tesla vboxdrv: [ID 147122 kern.notice] VBoxDrv: VBoxDrvSolarisOpen: Dev=0x0 pSession=ffffffff89c2f010 pid=874 r0proc=ffffffff89a0bde8 thread=ffffffff97942b40

Would the CD reading error generate the previous message?

The problem is due to the Optiarc SATA DVD-RW, switching to use a Samsung DVD fixed the problem.

Funny you say this. I have been un-successful in intsalling RH5 a client. The installation ticks happy along unit around halfways and than all freezes and I have to remotely kill virtual box.
I wonder if it is due to the hardware ? (Standard Ultra 24 with default DVD RW)
