Running VM causes host networking to drop out

Post by Haggles »

Hi there,

I'm running an Openindiana host with an Ubuntu guest, but it now seems to have developed an issue. If I run just the host everything is stable, but if I run the guest (headless or through the GUI) after a while - could be a 2 hours, could be 10 - the host network drops out.

The only way I can get it back is to login to the box directly and reboot it.

I've tried googling around to no avail, any ideas?

Thanks

OpenIndiana is not an official supported platform, but nonetheless, assuming it isn't different from Solaris in a signficant way; please post VBox.log for the VM that you run, also please post output of

Code: Select all

modinfo | grep vbox

Hi Ramshanker, thanks for posting. I realise its not an official platform, but any help is better than no help.

I have hosted vbox.log here:

Result of modinfo | grep vbox:

Code: Select all

167 fffffffff7b075a8 ce8 292 1 vboxnet (VirtualBox NetAdp 4.3.12r93733)
169 fffffffff8099000 385c0 291 1 vboxdrv (VirtualBox HostDrv 4.3.12r93733)
240 fffffffff8c90000 7510 293 1 vboxflt (VirtualBox NetDrv 4.3.12r93733)
240 fffffffff8c90000 7510 - 1 vboxflt (VirtualBox NetMod 4.3.12r93733)
241 fffffffff8c98000 45b0 294 1 vboxusbmon (VirtualBox USBMon 4.3.12r93733)
242 fffffffff8c9d000 7528 295 1 vboxusb (VirtualBox USB 4.3.12r93733)
Thanks again.
