I had a Virtual Machine and I originally created it with 12000 MB of Guest Memory.
As an experiment, I changed the Memory to 9162 MB of Memory, and installed an application and changed some files.
Now I changed the Virtual machine Memory back to 12000 MB of Guest Memory and tried to restart it. The machine starts up but never gets to a graphics login.
What causes this? Why can I make the Virtual Machine memory smaller but not larger?

That should work. Please check if VBox 4.3.8 RC1 fixes your problem.
Re: Virtual Machine stops when memory is increased
This doesn't work. I installed the latest version of Virtual Box and the extension. The Virtual Machine says its running but the Solaris operating system stops before it gets to the graphic login and doesn't allow ssh. I don't see any interesting error messages

Re: Virtual Machine stops when memory is increased
I think I have most of the information above. I just installed VirtualBox 4.3.8r92456
I used the command "VBoxManage setextradata VM_NAME "VBoxInternal/MM/CanUseLarger Heap" 1
Here is the log file
