VERR_SUPLIB_OWNER_NOT_ROOT

Postby HawaiianPunch » 22. May 2013, 02:28

I'm running Oracle Solaris 11.1, and have installed VirtualBox 4.2.12 r84980 installed.

Creating new guests is not a problem, but trying to install an operating system is a problem.
So far, I've tried using a live CD and an .iso on the desktop, but have been unable to install.

Here is the log from my most recent try:

VERR_SUPLIB_OWNER_NOT_ROOT

This means that the location where VirtualBox is installed is not secure. Check the permissions.

What specific permissions should I be seeing? I've installed in /opt. The only user I've added to vboxuser is myself.

I checked everything EXCEPT the owner of /opt. Thank you! I will now make an appointment to see my eye doctor.
