(that should be now GUI unusable )
I've been running VB for many years, and had many successful upgrades.
However this week I upgraded to 4.2.6, since then the VirtualBox Manager GUI has been unusable.
It loads (eventually) but then does not fill out the system details fully or respond to any mouse actions.
I can however star the VMs from the CLI.
Ok, details.
My system - S11.0 SRU#12
10Gb RAM, 200Gb HD still to use.
CPU 4 Core AMD645
VB 4.2.6, with ext pack
Any one any ideas ? 4.2.6 works OK on my laptop S11.0 SRU#8

Re: Updated from VB4.2.0 to 4.2.6 now unusable
Could you check if the VBoxSVC daemon is running (or just crashed) while you run the GUI? Any change with VBox 4.2.8?
Re: Updated from VB4.2.0 to 4.2.6 now unusable
The daemon was running, a truss didn't get me anything immediately useful.
Removed 4.2.6, installed 4.2.8 and problem went away.
Very strange, as a downgrade did not clear the issue, which suggests a library issue somewhere ?
