IOAPIC crash

Post by zdinu »

One of my Linux 64 bit VM running on OpenIndiana oi_151a (5.11) just crashed with a kernel panic. The solaris host shows up the following with dmesg:

Apr 10 06:08:28 host-0652 genunix: [ID 936769 kern.info] vboxusbmon0 is /pseudo/vboxusbmon@0
Apr 10 06:19:50 host-0652 vboxdrv: [ID 277664 kern.notice] RTC: stopped the periodic timer
Apr 10 06:19:51 host-0652 vboxdrv: [ID 196167 kern.notice] NOTICE: vbi_internal_alloc() failure for 2097152 bytes contig=1
Apr 10 06:21:05 host-0652 vboxdrv: [ID 277664 kern.notice] RTC: stopped the periodic timer
Apr 16 18:33:58 host-0652 vboxdrv: [ID 496676 kern.notice] IOAPIC GUEST BUG: bad vector writing 700(sel=20) to 8
Apr 16 18:33:58 host-0652 vboxdrv: [ID 277664 kern.notice] RTC: stopped the periodic timer

The linux VM crashed with a kernel panic also related to IOAPIC. I have attached the Linux VM screenshot with kernel crash.

Are there any bugs related to this issue ? The VM was stable for long time.

Thank you,
Dinu
