Cable unplugged for host only network

Post by ljw1 »

Using NWAM on a solaris 11 express and opensolaris 134b installs the network manager reports that the cable is unplugged for a host only network (VB4.08). No setting that I can find in the network setup seems to make any difference. Can someone please help?

nwam should be configured to use static IP for vboxnet0 set to 192.168.56.1, currently it probably tries to use DHCP for vboxnet0 and will get nowhere because data Xmits over vboxnetX goes to the VBox IntNet which at this point is not connected. Have you tried using nwamadm (as root) and disabling the vboxnetX interface?

Thanks for replying!
nwam was configured for a static ip 192.168.56.1.

I also tried the command as you suggested as root which yielded the following response -
nwamadm: Only profiles with manual activation-mode can be disabled

So there was no ability to change it.
Do you have any further suggestions?
