Re: 4.0.8 vboxnet0 Host-only fails on reboot
i just reinstalled virtualbox and hostadapter is loaded as expected.
on reinstalling i glimpse:
Loading VirtualBox kernel modules...
- Loaded: Host module
- Loaded: NetAdapter module
- Loaded: NetFilter module
- Loaded: USBMonitor module
- Loaded: USB module
Is there a manual way to load/unlaod these modules
however, as i do not reboot so often i can use re-install as a work around.

Are you using NWAM on the host? It is a known issue that NWAM and vboxnet does not mix well, infact I've had problems with NWAM even on physical interfaces not being plumbed (as of Solaris 11 Express)
You need not reinstall or even reload the driver, just execute "ifconfig vboxnet0 plumb up" on boot and that should be enough to bring up the interface.
