Post by jesspdx »

VirtualBox 3.1.6 on OpenSolaris build 111.

I have a Windows 7 machine in VirtualBox that became inaccessible. The error message is:

Assertion failed: [!aId.isEmpty() && !aName.isEmpty() && aMachine] at '/export/home/vbox/tinderbox/3.1-sol-rel/src/VBox/Main/SnapshotImpl.cpp' (130) in nsresult Snapshot::init(VirtualBox*, const com::Guid&, const com::Utf8Str&, const com::Utf8Str&, const RTTIMESPEC&, SnapshotMachine*, Snapshot*).
Please contact the product vendor!.
Result Code:
NS_ERROR_FAILURE (0x80004005)
Component:
Snapshot
Interface:
ISnapshot {1a2d0551-58a4-4107-857e-ef414fc42ffc}

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Hi jesspdx,

VirtualBox 3.1.4 on Debian 5 (Lenny).

I have a "Windows Server 2003 R2" machine in VirtualBox that became inaccessible. I have others VM which don't have problem. It happened when i reboot the host because USB disappear suddenly in Vbox. Before the reboot, we have carefully save state of all VM. Unfortunatly, the VM with Win2003 does not restart.
The error message in Vbox is:
Assertion failed: [!aId.isEmpty() && !aName.isEmpty() && aMachine] at '/home/vbox/vbox-3.2.0/src/VBox/Main/SnapshotImpl.cpp' (138) in nsresult Snapshot::init(VirtualBox*, const com::Guid&, const com::Utf8Str&, const com::Utf8Str&, const RTTIMESPEC&, SnapshotMachine*, Snapshot*).
Please contact the product vendor!.
Code d'erreur :
NS_ERROR_FAILURE (0x80004005)
Composant :
Snapshot
Interface :
ISnapshot {1a2d0551-58a4-4107-857e-ef414fc42ffc}
We try to upgrade Virtualbox on 3.1.8 then 3.2.0 but the problem still occurs. I will try the latest update soon.

Any idea is welcome.
