guest fails to start error 80004005

Running Opensolaris on a pre installed toshiba notebook.
Used package manager to update all today 25 Sept 2009.

Used the extras repository to update Virtual Box to 3.0.6 r52128

None of my previous guests will start ,they now fail with

If you updated using IPS you will need to run as root "pfexec /opt/VirtualBox/ipsinstall.sh" or perform a system reboot.

I had this problem twice, I think it was caused by a power-outage (UPS failed) - each time rebooting the host fixed it.
