VBox 2.2.2 on SXCE (5.11 x86) build 114 kernel panics

Postby zebra » 22. May 2009, 22:43

Hey all,

Think I've found a nasty bug in b114 in association with VirtualBox 2.2.2. VM running is a Windows Server 2008 instance. Try to start it up, as usual, like VBoxHeadless -startvm win2k8, and the entire system kernel panics, then dumps. As follows:

Pop!

Reliably, and every time, so far, that I've tried to start the VM up. Does it with other vm's on the system image also. I should also mention, b111, b112, b113 so not do this!

Reverting back to b113 via luactivate, until this can be sorted out.

Thoughts?

This is bug 3981
http://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/3981

There is a fixed vbi kernel module for b114 (or newer) attached to bug 3981.
