VirtualBox Developers Forum

Hello All,

I am trying to get some answers on internals of ICH9 source and it's implementation. I wasn't sure of posting it in this forum would be appropriate so thought I would check with core developers. I found something called IRC channel but that doesn't seem to be active ? Requested permissions to the mailing list vbox-dev@virtualbox.org, don't know how responsive is that ?

Can somebody recommend what's the best way to approach developers ?

Synopsis, adding new pluggable device to the exisiting VBox source and routing OS traffic on VM through this device.

Thanks.

Moving to "VirtualBox OSE" forum.

Both the IRC channels and the dev list are the most effective ways to contact them.

IRC channel tends to be active from 10h (10am) CET to 18h (6pm) CET - at least that's when the devs are online.
Dev list takes about a day to get approved, but usualy faster.

Before asking them, I would suggest checking the source code, vbox-dev mailing list archives (similar questions have been asked in the past) and the OSE forum for possible answers. It will give a better first impression!

Thanks.

I requested for access to the developers list https://www.virtualbox.org/mailman/listinfo/vbox-dev yesterday, hopefully will have it today.

Could not access IRC channel though, irc://irc.freenode.org/vbox-dev. Is there some other link ?

You need a client for it. If none is installed, the link won't work for you. You can also use the Freenode web client.

Sorry. I tried the web link, that doesn't seem to get me through are there any restrictions associated. Attached screenshot. Is it really no body around ? Thanks.

Oh I see the problem. The room is not the full URL, but #vbox-dev only
