Hi I searched for some howto but unsuccessful on this:
I need my VB OSE 3.0.2 snapshot compiled on debian 2.6.26-2-amd64 to use address from outside dhcp router and later to use public static ip. Can that be achieved?
I think it's something with host only interface but i don't understand what for are settings in File/Preferences/Network (address and mask and that dhcp server).
Can anybody give advice if it is possible to let debian guest obtain ip from outside dhcp and alter to be able to use public static ip address (host is debian as well). I have all three modules loaded (drv, netflt and netadp).
Regards,
Marek

Re: Networking (dhcp & public)
Host only means just that only host and guest no outside traffic.
You need to use bridged to do what you want.

Some say: "You learn as long as you live".
My way: "You live as long as you learn".
