I Can not connect to internet?

Post by ghiyasimehr »

Hello,

I use SUSE 11.1 as operating system. during installation SUSE 11.1 as main operating system, I installed VirtualBox OSE.
I ran VirtualBox with command $VirtualBox3 as root user.
then, I installed XP on VirtualBox as guest operating system but there is a problem:

in my XP, I can not connect to internet. please help me to configure XP network setting for connecting to internet.

I want to attach XP to Bridge so both SUSE & XP can connect to internet.

please help me.

Hi there,

You may need to check if you've picked NAT or Bridge option for you XP machine.

In your guest OS, check what network address is taking in control panel / network and don't forget to install Guest Additions.

Cheers!!

In Network Setting in guest OS, Adapter1 is Enable, Adapter Type is PCnet-FAST III (Am79C973) & Attach to NAT.

But I do not want to use guest OS behind the main OS(Suse), I want guest OS access to bridge for connecting to internet as same as VMware Worksatation Microsoft product. In this guest OS can access to bridge & connect to internet directly with an IP range of LAN's IPs.
