Hi there,
I have a very, very newbie question. The left panel of my VirtualBox Manager (ie the panel showing the machines) is disappeared! That is I can't choose any machine from the manager. How do I restore it???
Much appreciated
EDIT: forgot to add that I am on Ubuntu 20.04 and VirtualBox 6.1

The panel has been slid closed by an accidental mouse move. Move your mouse to the left side of the window. Just before you get to the far left side, where the mouse pointer switches to the grab-the-side-of-the-window pointer, it should switch to a different grab-the-slide-bar-between-two-panes pointer, just a couple pixels off the left edge of the window. (It does this on my Windows host, I don't have a Linux host to test on.) Click and drag to the right. Eventually the guest list pane should snap open.

Great, glad you're up and running!
Don't feel stupid. Virtualbox 5.2 had a visible bar on the side showing the left side had been collapsed and where to grab. Taking that away in the new 'border-less' look is a mistake IMHO. GUI's should not hide functions behind nothing.

IMHO,3 years later I met this problem again.
On macOS it's more terrible, there's handle on the board-less design on macOS.
It's all gone and seems that there's no way to recover.
Booooooooooom!
Yeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Of course there is. Close the VirtualBox Manager and execute the following command from within a terminal:zhongyang wrote:It's all gone and seems that there's no way to recover.
Code: Select all
VBoxManage setextradata global "GUI/SplitterSizes"
