My first post, so go easy on me.
I'm trying to use a single computer to demo some KVM switching gear. Normally I would use 2 computers for this but thought I might be able to get this done with VB and a single PC.
I have a PC that has 4 USB ports and 2 video ports (HDMI - mDP). I would like to run 2 VMs (Win10 and SuSE) and specify USB ports 1-2 and HDMI to Win10 and specify USB ports 3-4 and mDP to SuSE. Simple, right?? I can't figure it how to do it. When done, I should have 2 monitors and 2 sets of KM connected to the single PC but running 2 different OSs.
So....how???
Thanks in advance for the help!
Can I assign specific USB port and video port to VM?

We'll sure try!Tango-Tommy wrote:go easy on me.
Virtualbox runs on top of the host PC operating system. The host OS has to be able to use the devices in your PC before Virtualbox can use the devices.
You can move the guest window to one or the other host monitor and full-screen the guest. Then it will look like the guest has control over the screen.
You can also set USB filters to match a keyboard and mouse, see USB basics and troubleshooting. It may be possible, if the four USB ports show up in 'vboxmanage list usbhosts' as four different port numbers, you might be able to make a guest USB filter with just the port number set, and whatever goes on that USB port goes into the guest. But don't count on it.

Thanks for the reply!!
So, should I have the 2 KVMs connected first and then assign them?

There is no way I know of to assign USB ports to a VM. Only device IDs can be assigned, not host hardware.
