the question is about cloning my linux debian stretch. My install is fresh and have things set up just how I need them.
Fresh install of debian stretch
installed virtualbox
installed windows xpsp3
installed a couple cad programs within virtual windows
question, if I use something like clonezilla to clone my whole drive to another drive of the same size (1Tb) will my virtualbox, windows, cad program all be cloned? will they appear on the target hdd?
Any information will be appreciated. thanks, a new guy

Re: Linux system with Virtualbox clone question
I'm not sure what you're asking. Are you asking, if you clone your host drive using a host disk imaging tool, will all the files that were on the host drive also appeared on the cloned drive? Yes it will, that's why it's calling cloning.
Will the VMs run on the new hardware? Yes, if the hardware has the same available resources.
Will the VMs when run notice they are no longer on the same hardware? Quite possibly, unless the two PCs have identical hardware, in particular the same CPU.
And there's no need to clone the entire host drive to achieve the same effect. Just copy the VM folder to the target drive. Howto: Move a VM.
