Hi
Just installed the virtualbox and Guest additions on Windows 10 OS . The installation went fine and extended the display to full size again on Windows 10. Then I shut the windows down in the virtualbox and then the virtual machine. Now I cannot restart it.

I get the message -

'The VM session was closed before any attempt to power it on'.

Result Code: E_FAIL (0x80004005)

I have enclosed the last part of the log file in notepad.

Can you help me out please, I'm lost!

Partial logs are not that helpful I'm afraid. We need to see a complete VBox.log, from a complete VM run, where the problem occurs:

• Start the VM from cold-boot (not from a paused or saved state) / Observe or recreate the problem / Shutdown the VM (force close it if you have to).
• With the VM completely shut down (not paused or saved), right-click on the VM in the VirtualBox Manager and select "Show Log".
• Save only the first "VBox.log", ZIP it and attach it to your response.

Thanks for that. I shut it down and started again(rather attempted to start !).
I have enclosed the complete log file. Would this do?

I'm afraid this is not the complete log, the log starts at 12' 24", there's a lot more before that. Can you try again?
