corrupted vdi file after recovery

Post by bronstein87 »

Hi. i have recovered vdi file which was accidentally deleted. Now when i try to run vm it gives me an error:
Could not open the medium .

VDI: invalid header in '(VERR_VD_VDI_INVALID_HEADER).

VD: error VERR_VD_VDI_INVALID_HEADER opening image file (VERR_VD_VDI_INVALID_HEADER).

Код ошибки: E_FAIL (0x80004005)
Компонент: MediumWrap
Интерфейс: IMedium {ad47ad09-787b-44ab-b343-a082a3f2dfb1}
Is there any way to fix it? i have already tried to change header by my own, but it doesn't help. Probably i' do something wrong...

Prepare yourself for bad news, it's really hard to recover a large file like the 3GB disk file you had. You're probably dead in the water if you don't have a backup.

However, if by some miracle you got all the data and nothing else, you can try Mpack's CloneVDI. It can re-write bad headers if the rest of the data is in place. Read the instructions and hope for the best.
