Backing up files and folders from Virtual Box to host

I am a new Virtual Box user.

How do I back up important files and folders from Virtual Box (Windows 7) guest to my host computer (Windows 10) external hard drive?

I will be so grateful for help.

Do you mean "how to transfer files from guest to host"? If so you can use network (ftp etc.), shared folders, or the file manager. Note for the last two options you will need the Guest Additions.
