Those settings are defaults. They are only used when you're creating a new VM based on those default settings.

They are of no use, if:
1. You create VMs with custom folder locations. (don't using defaults)
-or-
2. Using pre-created VMs or VDIs.

Ah I see.....

I haven't created anything yet, just installed VirtualBox itself.
Since I will be creating my 1st of anything through the Wizard,
should I change these settings to where I want them to be.
Or will I be able to choose while in the Wizard?

Never done this before just want to do it right the 1st time.

Thank you......

Thanks.....

So I create a Folder on my G: (Large slave Drive) name the folder Virtual Machine or something.

Then tell Virtual Box that's where I want my " Virtual HardDisk "
I'll set the size to lets say 8 gigs ( Fixed Size ).
Now all I have to do is point to my Ubuntu 7.04 iso
and add it....

Reading through the Manual I'm thinking I'm getting the
hang of it....

Is this correct...... is the " Virtual HardDisk " like a container?
so I need to put it on my Big drive where all my space is.

Thanks so much for the help.... I know a few others who
would like to do this as well and by helping me, I can
teach them... thanks again....
