Virtual Box en Mac alguien en español?

Post by vafp »

I've been trying for days to install virtual box on mac

previously I had it on a macbook pro and it worked fine
I think the problem is something on the graphics card that virtual box or windows are not working correctly
We are going to need more information relating to versions, etc. We can get all of that information if you zip and post the VBox.log file for the guest in question.

We need a VM log file. With the VM fully shut down, right click and "Show Log" in the GUI, save "VBox.log" (no other file) to a zip, and attach the zip here.

00:00:26.937724 Host RAM: 8192MB (8.0GB) total, 2705MB (2.6GB) available
...
00:00:27.229321 RamSize <integer> = 0x000000013f300000 (5 355 077 632, 5 107 MB, 4.9 GB)
Memory overcommitted. In the long term I see no possibility that you can really afford to surrender that much RAM on this host. 2GB (2048MB) would be the number I would choose, after closing some apps.
00:00:27.229321 NumCPUs <integer> = 0x0000000000000001 (1)
On a 4 core host I'd give 2 cores to a VM.
00:30:06.778148 File system of '/Applications/VirtualBox.app/Contents/MacOS/VBoxGuestAdditions.iso' (DVD) is unknown
I see the above evidence that the Guest Additions ISO was mounted. I see no evidence that the Guest Additions were installed. I.e. the OP did not run the installer.
00:00:27.147880 File system of '/Users/vafp/Downloads/W7ULTX64/W7ULTX64/W7ULTX64.iso' (DVD) is unknown
Hmm. That doesn't look to me like a legal install from a standard Windows 7 install disk. My understanding is that Win7 Ultimate was never available on a CD, you had to upgrade to that level of license from inside a Win7 Home or Pro editions.

I don't know about physical media but you could get an .iso image with an MSDN subscription but, by default, it had the rather less snappy name of en_windows_7_ultimate_n_with_sp1_x64_dvd_u_677543.iso (at least the download I had does anyway).

00:00:27.229642 VRamSize <integer> = 0x0000000008000000 (134 217 728, 128 MB)
00:00:28.241078 GUI: 2D video acceleration is disabled
And so is the 3D acceleration. Shutdown the VM and enable them in the VM settings » Display. You'll also notice that the max VRAM will jump from a max value of 128 to 256 MB after that; max the VRAM as well. Then re-install the Guest Additions (GAs) in the guest, or actually do install them, because they're not installed at all to begin with...
