Hi, in this verison i can not upgrade or install the extension pack 6.0.2 (i have 6.0.0 installed) . The host is Ubuntu 18.10 x64.
the error is very generic:

Result Code:
NS_ERROR_FAILURE (0x80004005)

Any one getting this on Ubuntu?
The strange thing is that is not asking for elevation, (sudo passord) after i click agree., it just fails.
Thank you,

Weird. However assuming you want the 6.0.2 release the address would be: https://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/6.0.2.

Or just enter via the downloads home page: https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads.

You got to give a lot more details than that. What fails? What's the error message? How did you try to install it? You know... the steps to reproduce it.

Crashed silently, the main windows show & exit silently, on Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.17134.376] 64 bit
And then I open it again, it seems work. But while closing my windows host there is process "VirtualBox Interface" prevents to shutdown even if I've closed VBox.

I updated from 5.2.22 to 6.0.2 a few days ago and I have to say that I'm quite disappointed about the Windows guest graphics performance.

First let me say that I’ve never been satisfied with Windows 10 guest graphics performance. Windows 7 guest performance was always great, but ever since I updated to Windows 10 it hasn’t been good. And I’m only talking about basic things that I need as a software developer, so the Windows desktop, start menu and various programs, especially Microsoft Office. Everything is always way slower in the guest than on the host. See here for a thread I started about that: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=76236

That’s why my hopes for 6.0 were high since the changelog mentions a major upgrade of graphics in Windows guests. But for me it’s worse now than it was with 5.2.
  • I still can’t enable 3D acceleration since that causes graphics corruption in various programs, e.g. Microsoft Word (also had that in 5.2, but with VBoxSVGA it's way worse now).
  • If 3D acceleration is enabled with VBoxSVGA I can't start a specific program in my guest, it always crashes (the application - not VirtualBox). This crash only happens if both VBoxSVGA and 3D acceleration is enabled.
  • I’ve tried both VBoxVGA and VBoxSVGA but can’t see any difference in performance. Should this be noticeable?
  • The general graphics performance seems the same as in 5.2, but it looks like 6.0 has frequent lags or stuttering. This manifests as pauses in animations etc. and happens everywhere (e.g. scrolling in any program, opening the start menu, opening a menu in any program, selecting text in any program, …). I'm not 100% sure yet if this only happens with VBoxSVGA or in general. But if it is a general problem, it will most likely force me to downgrade to 5.2
Does anyone have an idea if this can be fixed/improved?

Guest additions are updated. Logs are attached in case someone can see a problem there.
I know that I've assiged all my CPU cores to the guest but that is intented. I hardly use my host at all and the guest should have all the performance that it can get. Reducing the cores the guest has access to doesn't improve the guest graphics performance.

On Ubuntu 18.10, using VirtualBox 6.0.2 installed through Ubuntu/Debian Cosmic PPA: I created a NAT Network in Preferences, but when I go to delete it and then hit "OK" to save changes, I get the error:
Callee RC:
NS_ERROR_INVALID_ARG (0x80070057)

I resolved my problem, but not the underlying error cause (whatever it is). I could see "NatNetwork" under Preferences, but "VBoxManage natnetwork list" showed no NAT networks.
When I tried to do a "VBoxManage natnetwork remove --netname NatNetwork" it gave this error:

VBoxManage: error: Code NS_ERROR_INVALID_ARG (0x80070057) - Invalid argument value (extended info not available)
VBoxManage: error: Context: "RemoveNATNetwork(net)" at line 475 of file VBoxManageNATNetwork.cpp
VBoxManage: error: Failed to remove nat network

So then I was able to do successfully:
VBoxManage natnetwork start --netname NatNetwork
VBoxManage natnetwork list (showed the network!)
VBoxManage natnetwork stop --netname NatNetwork
VBoxManage natnetwork remove --netname NatNetwork

And now it seems I can add/remove in Preferences without error, but that was strange. I do not need NAT Networks like this. Ordinary NAT is fine. So I won't be using this feature, but probably either a two-adapter approach (NAT on 1st, Host-Only on 2nd), or just one adapter (bridged). So far, I have been unable to find any more helpful information such as log files, though I've looked in my .config/VirtualBox folder where my user-config files are stored. Hope this helps.

I'm in the polar opposite end of the spectrum, I literally can't make it work on any machine I try it on.

Went and installed 6.0.2 on work machine (also Win10 x64), shortcuts also do not work. To eliminate all variables I went and reinstalled Win 10x64 Pro fresh and installed vbox (only installed program after windows updates) and the shortcuts fail on the fresh windows install as well. The raw shortcut launch path for my example VM is:

"C:\Program Files\Oracle\VirtualBox\VirtualBoxVM.exe" --comment "D10" --startvm "{71f11a46-bc3e-4ffd-8815-7792ea0541dd}"

Running this command manually shows the VirtualBoxVM.exe starting up and immediately exiting. Just as a note, installing an older virtualbox before 6.0.0 the shortcuts work fine.

I apologize if this is the incorrect thread for this, but I have been experiencing a pretty intense performance drop since updating to Virtualbox 6.0 (as well as with the 6.0.2 update). It is to the point where I can no longer smoothly scroll through webpages. This is not an issue that I've had with any other updates, and no amount of tinkering I've tried has made a difference, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Host and Guest are both Windows 10 with the latest updates.

Host specs:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 1700x
RAM: 16gb duel-channel
GPU: NVidia GTX 1080
