VirtualBox Window freezes up

I'm running VirtualBox VM 5.2.22 r126460 win.amd64 with a Ubuntu guest on a Windows 10 host . I've had an ongoing problem with VirtualBox freezing up. It only seems to happen when I'm connected to my external monitors. It usually happens when my computer goes to sleep or when I move one of the VM windows to/from my laptop screen.
