Merging medium (aka deleting a snapshot)'s ETA is way off! (#18335)

Postby ant » 20. Dec 2018, 03:34

ModEdit; related ticket: #18335: Deleting a snapshot shows an incorrect estimated time (14714 days 5 hours)

Ever since I upgraded VirtualBox to v6.0.0 on a 2012 13.3" MacBook Pro (mac OS Sierra v10.12.6 and a Micron 500 GB SSD), deleting a recent snapshot shows ETAs way off as shown in my screen capture/shot as an example. The deleting of the old snapshot only took a few seconds and minutes. It seems the ETAs are way off in v6.0.0. Is anyone else noticing this too or just me? :(

No, it's not just you. See the report from the Beta forums: I estimate 14714 days to delete a snapshot.

Huh? I thought it was already a ticket. Oh well. Better late than never I guess. Interesting that it happens in Windows hosts too. Thanks. ;)

I didn't notice that part, thanks for bringing it up. I'm moving this to the "Using VirtualBox" section from "OSX Hosts" one...

Also GNU/Linux:
Code: Select all   Expand viewCollapse view
$ uname -a
Linux Greenslade 4.18.0-13-generic #14-Ubuntu SMP Wed Dec 5 09:04:24 UTC 2018 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

When the progress bar appears, it is always 99% complete with 14714 days and 5 hours remaining.

Wow, a generic bug affecting all OS hosts. Ha. I thought it was a Mac OS thing.
