Always Start Detachable

Post by dfuhgrdfughkfduh »

Is there any way I can configure a VM to always start detachable, or at least default to starting detachable?

Why would i not want it to start in this mode?

Not via a setting, no. But, what you can do is to assign a shortcut to the way you want to start it. For example I've assigned Ctrl-O to Start normally. You can set yours to Detachable...

Experimental. More overhead. No 3D acceleration.

Have you any indication how much 'more overhead'?

No, but think about it: you have two processes that have to communicate and the "headless" process A to send all its graphics info to a process B, the GUI.

Haven't measured it, but if you do some measurements, post the data if you can.
