Can I use my old .vbox machines on a new virtual box build?

Post by Stanbox »

I created a couple of virtual machines (.vbox files) in an old virtualbox (version VirtualBox-5.0.14-105127-Win), now i want to download the new build / version but I am worried that my old machines wouldn't function properly on the new virtual box build. Should I be worried or would the new build work perfectly with the old virtual machines?

I'm not aware of any application software which destroys your existing data when the software is updated. That said, do you envisage some problem that stops you making VM backups, or which would prevent you from reinstalling the previous software version?
