Likely a simple matter for our community, over time I've created about 12 snapshots of my client's environment on my host. I see the cryptically named .vdi files in the Snapshots directory along with about 5 .sav files.
1. When removing the snapshots from my host, is it just a matter of transferring (cut and paste, or copying, etc) the .vdi files to another medium when the client is not booted?
2. Also, what is done with the .sav files? How do they relate to the .vdi files? Are they to be stored paired with certain .vdi files?
Thank you forum

Re: Downloading, backing up, Snapshots?
Howto: Move a VM.
".sav" files are saved states, i.e. memory dumps when a VM is hibernated. If you snapshot a running session then the saved RAM state is implicit.
I hope you make regular backups, since snapshots are not backups and in fact make data loss more likely. Google for details.
