Discuss the 5.1.28 release here.
You can download the release here.
Mainly a regression-fix release for 5.1.26.

Download link for the OpenSUSE version seems to be broken.

Thank you. I just checked, and in fact all the RPM links were broken. Fixed now.

Well, I installed 5.1.28 and it trashed my autostart files like 5.1.26 before it with the message

"/etc/vbox/vbox.cfg: line 5: default_policy: command not found
Found old version of /etc/vbox/vbox.cfg, removing."

I have looked in the user manual online and the old version appears to be the only version. Is there some new version of the autostart system I have missed somewhere?

Apart from the autostart problem it appears to be good. Guest OS's are up with no issues.

Another issue with a Windows 10 Pro (1703) 64-bit Guest on Windows 10 Pro (1703) 64-bit Host.

When trying to install a couple of programs (running Windows Installers), I get the following error:
VirtualBox_Windows 10 Pro 64-bit_18_09_2017_21_15_33.png
VirtualBox_Windows 10 Pro 64-bit_18_09_2017_21_15_33.png (14.41 KiB) Viewed 9157 times
Also, upon Shutdown of the Guest, Explorer crashes just as the "Shutdown" blue screen displays. (wasn't able to get a screen shot, but will try again)

The issue only appeared after installing (on the Guest) the latest 5.1.28 Guest Additions, via the "Guest Additions CD Image".

It was working fine with the older 5.1.26 Guest Additions installed on the Guest.

Cheers,

Mike.

I can confirm this behavior.

I can also confirm. Everything gets back to normal when I uninstall the 5.1.28 guest additions and then install the 5.1.26 version.

After upgrade to 5.1.28, every attempt to shut down a Win10 Home guest causes an application error in explorer.exe (see attached photo of screen). It's more of an annoyance than anything else, because Win10 continues to shut down, and appears to start normally the next time.

Note: This never happened with 5.1.26 (or, for that matter, any earlier release).

Note: If I disable 3D Acceleration, I get a normal shut down (no error messages).

Note: I have not tried to revert to 5.1.26 GA and see what happens.

I turned off 3D and 2D acceleration (according to link by socratis above in the thread) and all works fine again, even with 5.1.28 :D

Don't use that file for the autostart config, use /etc/vbox/autostart.cfg like suggested in the manual. vbox.cfg is reserved solely for the installer.

Win 10 64 bit

I had problems with explorer.exe on shutdown.

Also Internet Explorer and Excel 2016 crashes.

After uninstalling VBoxGuestAdditions_5.1.28 and reinstalling VBoxGuestAdditions_5.1.26 everything works fine.
