Re: Discuss the 5.1.26 release
Some symlinks are still missing so if you are trying to upgrade the Extension Pack from the GUI then it will currently fail (ExtPack not found). Should be fixed within the next 1-2 hours.

Actually they are there now.
Re: Discuss the 5.1.26 release
Dear developers!
Do you at least test your releases ?!
Build 5.1.24 contained a bunch of bugs. Virtual machines when rolling back to the snapshots and launching just fell with strange errors.
Build 5.1.26 does not work correctly with Windows XP as a guest. After every few starts, virtual machines with Windows XP fail with a read-write error.
This is not even funny

Re: Discuss the 5.1.26 release
5.1.26 works just fine here, not only with XP but with a bunch of guests. Read-write error doesn't sound like a VirtualBox problem, it sounds like your host is having a problem. So, take a deep breath, and try to explain your problem accurately, accompanied by evidence, such as compressed logs and other (exact) error messages.melobox wrote:Build 5.1.26 does not work correctly with Windows XP as a guest.
Do NOT send me Personal Messages (PMs) for troubleshooting, they are simply deleted.
Do NOT reply with the "QUOTE" button, please use the "POST REPLY", at the bottom of the form.
If you obfuscate any information requested, I will obfuscate my response. These are virtual UUIDs, not real ones.

Re: Discuss the 5.1.26 release
Well, yes, the easiest way to write about "host OS problems".
However, even on version 5.1.22, this "problem host OS" worked with all guest OS (including Windows XP) without any problems and there were no "read-write" errors. By the way, the downgrade to version 5.1.22 returns stable operation of Windows XP as guest OS.
(Sorry, but I have Russian localization OS)
What other logs can I provide?

Re: Discuss the 5.1.26 release
You could go to Google Translate (https://translate.google.com) and translate the text in English. I don't even have a Russian keyboard to input the message, and it's going to take me 1/2 hour to translate a simple error message.
Does the VM start or no?
Search for and attach the VBoxSVC.log, usually located in your User's directory under ".VirtualBox" (note the "."). Also, right-click on the VM, Show Log, save the 1st one only, ZIP IT and attach that as well.

Re: Discuss the 5.1.26 release
Do you have hardware virtualization (VT-x) enabled and available on your host?

I think you mistake the function of the free versions. We are the test resource.melobox wrote: Do you at least test your releases ?!
Re: Discuss the 5.1.26 release
In the attachment of the log from the VBox.log.1 window of the virtual machine with Windows XP.
Again, I note that the rollback to full backup 5.1.22 (and even 5.1.24) allows virtual machines running Windows XP to run again without any problems.
The error is obviously contained in build 5.1.26!

Re: Discuss the 5.1.26 release
I had the a similar issue - upon the first start of 5.1.26 and loading of a Linux Mint guest, VirtualBox bombed out...
I've attached the logfile...
Ran okay on two successive attempts.
