I would like to change a Virtual Box VDI disk from "normal" to "shareable". But the Virtual Media Manager refuses to do so with the error message: "Cannot change type for medium '<mydisk>.vmdk' since it has 1 child media." This is probably because the VM this disk is attached to, has a couple of snapshots.
I would need to mount this disk (including the snapshots) to another VM - not concurrently, but have it either attached to the first or to the second VM. (The idea is to have a Linux 6 and Linux 7 and use that disk with one or the other.)
Is that at all possible?

Re: Make a disk with snapshots shareable
Why does it have to include snapshots? Your life would be much simpler (and safer) without them.
In general, if you want storage flexibility and data that won't spontaneously self destruct, don't use snapshots.
