I have an interesting issue with using VRDP remotely.
When rdesktop or mstsc are run within the local network, or on the same machine, the connection works fine. I am using ubuntu and others for the guest, running on either of a Fedora 6 or Ubuntu 7 host.
When I connect remotely to the VRDP port, routing the connection over ssh or over openvpn, it fails within 30 seconds, although it gets the initial screen repaint.
I routinely use VNC over this same connection, and have it run for days at a time, although it can be a bit slow. I was hoping to host a virtual machine and gain access over VRDP, which seems snappier when I do the same thing with real Windows XP hosts.
Any ideas?
